Spring/ Summer Show Wrap Up

Whew!!! The marathon of late spring and early summer shows is over and the BTH crew came away with a lot of success, amazing learning opportunities and a sense of accomplishment! I am extremely proud of our riders, their perseverance, their team spirit and their positive relationships with their horses.

We started this spring with back to back weeks at Murieta Equestrian Center for the Memorial Day Classic and Summer Classic managed by West Palms. Our first week featured our junior riders ending up in the ribbons of the National Hunter Derby, the Ch/AA Hunter Derby and solid rounds in the Children’s Hunters for a championship and beautiful rounds for a tied reserve championship in the Green Hunters. Our youngest rider was also champion in the Short Stirrup and winner of the combined 2’ Hunter Classic!! The second week offered some valuable lessons and development for our young mare, a reserve championship in the Pre-child/AA Equitation and a championship in the Children’s Hunters a second week in a row along with a top 12 finish in the Ch/AA Hunter Derby and a catch ride for 2nd in the Onandarka!

We had a quick week break to rev up for the best show of the year Beach Party!!! We had soooo many successes there are wayyy too many to list but horses and riders met goals, earned great ribbons and came away feeling accomplished and qualified for ALL of our medal finals! I also got to borrow one of my student’s wonderful horses for a top ten finish in the Trainer Eq and had a top ten finish on my beloved Bryton in the Derby. Our dear friends even borrowed one of our amazing horses and qualified for Onandarka with a WIN!! So happy to have this generous group of kids all willing to help each other and cheer for all of our barn friends:) 11 horses came to Brookside a week later for the Splash show and SAHJA Medal Finals. Our riders put their best foot forward with scores regularly in the 80s seeing 2 top ten finishes in the 3’ medal and a top ten in the pony medal! Everyone cheered each other on and really supported and helped one another- and really isn’t that what it’s all about when you have a barn family️ I want to thank my clients, our amazing staff at OA, my incredible assistant and above all else my wonderful horses who give us all they have and give us all the chance to live our dreams!!
